Innovation Park is designed to serve early-stage businesses in varying stages of development, including ventures with expected commercial applications from Notre Dame research areas as well as ventures that can benefit from access to the expertise and resources available through the Park.
Innovation Park’s current client companies are:
ALTAPURE LLC provides patented, high-level sterilization and disinfection technology for large spaces and equipment. The company’s novel antiseptic aerosol technology prevents contamination by microorganisms that pose a threat to human health, particularly in health care settings and food processing facilities. ALTAPURE is headquartered in Tomahawk, Wis., with production facilities located in Elkhart, Ind., and sales operations in Indianapolis.
Emu Solutions LLC is commercializing technologies that bridge the gap between memory and logic capabilities in computer systems, helping to address an increasingly common and critical issue for businesses and government. The company was founded in 2004 by Notre Dame computer science and engineering professors Peter Kogge and Jay Brockman and California Institute of Technology researcher Ed Upchurch.
F Cubed LLC is commercializing groundbreaking technology licensed from the University of Notre Dame that allows for the rapid and direct detection of DNA and other molecules in liquids. Founded in 2008, F Cubed is currently developing a prototype of a handheld instrument that provides direct, point-of-care measurement for fluid samples.
Graham Allen Partners LLC is a private holding company established to make investments in early-stage, high-growth businesses. These businesses will locate in Graham Allen Partners’ Innovation Park offices. The company was founded and is managed by Notre Dame alumnus Tracy Graham, who has over 14 years of executive experience in the technology industry.
RemSense Inc. is focused on creating innovative technologies for clients in the scientific, academic, and tactical communities. Founded in 2008 by Dr. Scott Anderson and Gina Anderson, RemSense is working with Innovation Park to develop a web-based tool to enhance student interest in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields and to continue developing and marketing the company’s current product line of remote sensing systems.
Road to Fondwa LLC is a double-bottom line venture working to significantly increase the distribution, awareness and impact of the documentary “The Road to Fondwa,” filmed exclusively in Haiti. The company was founded in 2009 by Notre Dame alumni Justin Brandon, Brian McElroy and Daniel Schnorr.
SlipStream LLC is working to create an ultra-efficient hybrid vehicle system that utilizes ultracapacitors as an energy buffer in vehicles, potentially enabling a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption. Founded in 2008, SlipStream is currently testing a prototype of the new system at Innovation Park, and hopes to poise the product for commercial production with an established manufacturer in the near future.
Unlimited Juice LLC is currently commercializing patent-pending technology that allows for the retrofitting of existing portable consumer electronic devices with slim, environmentally-friendly solar power sources. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Landon Spitalnik, who is currently an MBA candidate at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
Innovation Park is also proud to serve as a resource for the following groups, all of whom lease space in our building and contribute to the innovation ecosystem in the region and beyond:
- University of Notre Dame’s ESTEEM program – a collaboration among the College of Science, College of Engineering and the Mendoza College of Business that teaches students to innovate and develop entrepreneurial skills and abilities specific to modern technology and science companies.
- Fish Taco Ventures – the managing entity for seed and early-stage funds that invest in new ventures from members of the Notre Dame network.
- Ignition Park – our sister park under the state of Indiana’s Certified Technology Park program. Owned by the City of South Bend, Ignition Park is currently in the planning stages for the siting of three million square feet of high-tech office and support space on the old Studebaker corridor in downtown South Bend.
Services
Innovation Park services are tailored to meet various stages of venture development, and can include:
- Advisory Support—Innovation Park works closely with clients to assess and develop their ventures’ business potential by assisting with feasibility analysis, market assessment and segmentation, business plan refinement, and general business support. Clients have access to Park staff, business advisors and professional service providers drawn from the Park’s network of resources. For ventures in their earliest stages, Innovation Park can help facilitate the business formation process and assist in determining very critical early milestones to catalyze business growth.
- Business Networking—By building strong relationships with industry experts, potential customers, leadership talent, service providers, and others, the Park can provide its clients with timely access to resources that are essential for successful commercial development.
- Contact with Early Stage Capital Providers—Innovation Park cultivates relationships with investors and other providers of early-stage funding so that clients can explore appropriate funding avenues and have strong leads for funding resources when they need capital to support the growth of their ventures.
